Born in Connecticut and lived there until age 30 when I moved to California. Since
moving to California, I've lived in Santa Cruz, in Berkeley and currently on the Peninsula
in Redwood Shores.
Professionally, I received my Ph.D. in Political Science (with distinction) from Yale
University in 1992, and taught in the Politics Department at the University of California,
Santa Cruz from 1992 until 2000. In 2000, I decided to go to Berkeley School of Law
at the University of California, Berkeley, where I earned my J.D. in 2003, when I
became a licensed attorney in the state of California. From 2003 until 2013, I worked
as a transactional, corporate and securities attorney at Wilson, Sonsini, Goodrich
& Rosati, P.C., in Palo Alto.
