(1) New Vision Statement
In the Winter and Spring quarters a subgroup of Foothill 2030 worked to revisit the
college's vision statement. Please see a distillation of campus feedback and a summary
of that iterative work here. At last week’s Mission Informed Planning Council, the body made some slight modifications
to the group’s recommendation and approved the following new Vision Statement for
Foothill College:
Foothill College is the institution of choice in Silicon Valley for catalyzing personal,
economic, and social change.
Thanks to all that contributed to this aspiration.
(2) Foothill Fiscal Forum FAQ
A FAQ to accompany the Fiscal Forum (held at the end of May) is now posted. The questions answered captured most of those asked in the chat feature of the forum or were gathered by the leadership team. At the bottom of the page, please note a form where you may submit an unaddressed question.
(3) Countdown to Commencement this Friday
Over 80 faculty and staff have signed up to support our student graduates. Goal achieved! Thanks in advance to all those that have contributed to the incredible collective effort, with special thanks to Catalina Rodriguez. If you would like to watch Laurie Scolari's preshow (not to be missed!) while donning your regalia or if you simply cannot attend and want to catch the event remotely, tune into the YouTube channel.
(4) Provisional Approval of a BDP in Building Trades Management
As Phuong Tran recently shared, “The California Community Colleges Chancellor's Office recently concluded the cycle four baccalaureate degree program (BDP) application program compliance and quality review process. We are thrilled to share with you that Foothill College's proposed BDP in Building Trades Management has been granted provisional approval status.” We still need ACCJC and CSU approval but this is a significant milestone! Congrats to Chris Allen, Phuong Tran and the Apprenticeship Team for this achievement.
(5) Medalists Display
Come by the president's suite in building 1900 to see the display of our President’s Medalists. This beautiful display comes via the creative genius and hard work of Antoinette Chavez, Daniel Velazquez and the marketing design team. This year 24 students earned the honor. Those attending graduation will receive their medal in the ceremony.
12345 moves to a bi-weekly updates in the summer.
Yours in service,
Kristina
