Foothill Faculty: Are you interested in leading a study abroad program?
Applications for faculty leads for the Spring 2026 quarter-long study abroad program now open!
We are accepting applications for the exciting role of “Faculty Lead” for our Spring 2026 Quarter-Long Study Abroad Program offered through the Office of Global Experiential Learning (GEL). Two full-time, tenured faculty will be selected to lead a group of 30-40 students abroad for an 8-10 week program in one of the following destinations:
- San José or Heredia, Costa Rica
- Santiago, Chile
- Buenos Aires, Argentina
- Mérida (Yucatan), Mexico
- Cape Town, South Africa
- Rabat, Morocco
- Prague, Czech Republic
All full-time, tenured instructional faculty are eligible to apply for these positions. Please download the application packet for more information and how to apply:

Applications Due on January 24, 2025 by 5:00 p.m.
In-person interviews the first week of February 2025
Notification of faculty leads & destination by the end of February 2025
Program proposals for short-term faculty designed & led programs
If you are interested in pitching a faculty-led/designed global epxeriential learning program for Foothill students and/or the boader community, similar to the Spring Environmental Justice in Cuba program, or the Summer Anthropology Field Schools, please reach out to the Global Experiential Learning Office to receive a proposal template and support for completing the form. Please note that the deadline for submitting proposals is December 1 for the following acacdemic year (summer, fall, winter, spring).
