(1) The Experience Foothill College Campaign.
Foothill College’s mark of distinction is its ability to support and provide high
impact experiential learning across the campus and to those traditionally underserved
by these opportunities. The launch of the Experience Foothill Campaign seeks donations
to support internships, global experiential learning, and to fill funding gaps for
our commitments to retention producing opportunities such as the Research and Service
Learning Symposium, the Foothill Innovation Challenge, and the Case Competition. The
power of your contribution, combined with others, will be directed toward these goals.

(2) The FHDA Foundation Hope Initiative
The Foundation launched the Hope Initiative in 2021 to provide critical support for students’ basic needs—food, housing, and mental health. The ability for students to meet their most basic needs connects directly to their ability to achieve educational and career goals. In this final year of the campaign, an anonymous donor pledged to match up to $1 million in donations to this effort. So far in 2024, we have raised more than $825,000 toward the $1 million match. Help close the gap with a donation that will be doubled. See the flyer for all the information needed to give.
(3) Attend the Muwekma Flag Raising Ceremony and Trail of Truth Panel/ Support the Fight for Reinstatement of Federal Recognition.
Today, at the 1900 Administration Building Flagpole and then the Dining Hall we will join the Muwekma Chairwomen Charlene Nijmeh and several Trail of Truth Horseback riders in a Muwekma Flag raising ceremony followed by a panel presentation in the Dining Hall. What’s the Trail of Truth? The tribe writes, “The Trail of Truth was a 90-day horseback journey across the United States, all the way from San Francisco to Washington, beginning August 4th. Led by the members of the Muwekma Ohlone tribe and Chairwoman Nijmeh, the protest aims to raise awareness about the injustice that the unrecognized tribes in the Bay Area have had to endure for decades.” Come by to hear more. Dancing and the flag raising from 12- 12:45 at building 1900. We will move inside to the dining hall following the ceremony. On this Giving Tuesday, you could also financially support the Muwekma advocacy effort by giving here.
(4) Toy Drive and Red Plaid Brunch
The Office of the President and the Veterans Resource Center are ushering in the festive season with a Red Plaid Brunch this Thursday from 11:00 am - 12:30 pm in the Dining Hall. All employees are welcome. Bring a new unwrapped toy to place in one of the collection bins and support the VRC's participation in 2024 Santa Clara Marine Corps Reserve's Toys for Tots Drive. Senior staff will be serving chilaquiles verdes and other tasty breakfast foods. Enjoy the festive mood, music, and fellowship. If you cannot attend the brunch, and toy collection bin is located in the 1900 building atrium.
(5) Give Time and Expertise: Next MIPC meeting on December 6th kicks off the EMP
The Mission Informed Planning Council will hold the last meeting of the quarter this Friday. At this meeting, MIPC and other campus members in attendance will kick off Educational Master Planning with our consultants, the Collaborative Brain Trust.
