General Theatre Program

The Foothill Theatre Arts Department offers a broad range of inspirational opportunities to both pursue the interests of the Theatre Arts Major and the performing arts enthusiast.

In-person instruction in experiential performance courses such as: 

  • Acting
  • Improvisation
  • Singing Technique for Musical Theatre 

Practical “behind the scenes" classes such as: 

  • Scenery & Properties Construction
  • Theatrical Make-up
  • Fashion & Costume Construction

Survey classes such as: 

  • Introduction to Theatre
  • Multi-Cultural Theatre Arts in Modern America
  • History of Dramatic Literature

Students have several options for pursuing a major/certificate as well as fulfilling GE requirements, or even personal enrichment. Many classes can be taken either for-credit or non-credit.

Taught by industry professionals who are highly skilled in their respective disciplines, Theatre Arts courses are open to all students (production classes are subject to audition and interview for instructor approval). Check out the exciting opportunities available to all.
