Make a 30-Minute Counseling Appointment


Our online appointment scheduling system allows you to book up to 7 days in advance.

NOTE: Educational plans, academic probation issues, and transcript evaluations require more time than the 15-minute Quick Question session offers.  Please schedule an appointment below for more involved academic support.

Meet with a Counselor by Telephone, Zoom, or In-Person

General Counseling

Currently Foothill College offers in-person and virtual general counseling appointments by telephone and online zoom video. These appointments are limited and the scheduling system lets you book up to 7 days in advance.

  1. Select your preferred appointment type and date/time.

Note: Counseling services are unavailable on Thursday from 2–4 p.m. If you cannot find an appointment time for your selected time frame, it often means we are booked and you will have to try the next day since our system only lets you book up to 7 days in advance.

Prepare for Your Appointment

  • Apply to Foothill College
  • Take English and math assessments*
  • Make a list of questions you want to ask
  • Prepare to bring necessary documents: other college transcripts, test scores and any other records relevant to issues you want to discuss*
  • If interested in transfer, make a list of potential universities and major programs

    *if necessary

Review Guidelines

  • Maximum 30 minutes per appointment — so be ON TIME.  One appointment per day.
  • Maximum 5 appointments per quarter
  • Telephone and live-video counseling appointments available for distance learners
  • Minimum 24 hours notice required for appointment cancellations

The Day of Your Appointment

You will need to call your counselor at the beginning of your scheduled appointment time if you have a telephone appointment.

Zoom Appointments

Please be prepared to be engaged in this virtual appointment as if you were in person with a counselor.

If you are driving, your appointment will be rescheduled.

It is helpful to have access to a device (computer, tablet, or phone) with internet access so the counselor can show you important information on their screen. However, this is not a requirement.

Transfer Planning

You can make an appointment with ALL counselors in General Counseling or the Transfer Center to get assistance with transfer to a 4-year university. Both offices provide the same transfer support. Visit the Transfer Center website to access additional transfer services and resources.
